Copper Basin Sanitation (CBS) began in March of 1990. It was established by Sy & Carol Neeley through Copper Valley Construction Company (CVCC). Starting in the 1960’s, the septage pumping was necessary for CVCC to do repairs and installations of septic systems. In the mid ’60’s, the Neeleys had to dispose of solid waste from their trailer court along with the waste from the construction company. The sanitation work was firmly established as more and more residences and businesses needed these types of services. The crew at CBS is trained on the many services we provide. As new industry ideas and information become available, we are proactive at upgrading and retraining.
The August 2007 issue of “Alaska Business Monthly” featured an in-depth article about Carol Neeley and the history of the company. The title of the article is “Carol Neeley: turning tragedy to profit: woman takes reins of Glennallen business after loss of husband.” Follow this link to read the article.
In January 2016, the business was changed from a sole proprietorship to a limited liability corporation; same owner, same crew, same services, with a small change of name and legal structure.
