Spring & summer are the times to inspect your yard for damage and problems with your wastewater disposal area.  Look for ponding water and damaged pipes or lids; have repair work done now – don’t wait ‘til fall.   Move dog houses, wood piles, pathways and other above ground items that encourage frost to penetrate the ground and/or allows snow cover disturbances.  Cut back brush and cut down trees, particularly aspen, cottonwood, alder & willows – they have long roots that interfere with pipes and water absorption.
